Rerun!
While I was in L.A. a few weeks ago, my friend Julian and I shot two short sketches. I posted the first one below and this is the second one…
Originally, this was going to be a multi-shot scene but, after running it a few times, Julian decided that it would be best if we did it all in one take. I think we ended up using take 15(ish).
Also, the effect that he added to make it look cartoonish took three days to render.

My Creative Fiancé
Today is my birthday. To celebrate, Kayla and I are going to try cake samples for our wedding and then do a few other things that we haven’t planned because I’m not a fan of planning things.
She also made this for me:

HOW COOL IS THAT?!
Seriously?
This was awesome:
Conviction!
Wrote this today for a project at Lifeway. It’s written in a conversational tone because it’s a video that will be shown to campers.
As I read it back, something about it struck a chord with me.
This is something that I need to learn…

T-Shirt Geniuses
Rhett and Link continue to amaze me.
I think it’s pretty incredible that these guys (as well as anyone else with a creative mind) can make a living off of Youtube videos. But their latest idea has to be the smartest thing they’ve done so far. Not only is it an insanely creative idea, it’s also great advertising for the actual t-shirts that millions of people will probably buy. Genius.
Our Story / Invite
I’m teaching myself photoshop right now. It’s consuming my life. But in a good way.
I saw this idea for a wedding invitation a few years ago and I was pretty obsessed with it so I decided to copy it for Kayla and I’s wedding. I’m not sure if we’ll actually use it but I figured it’s cool enough to post here.
Oh, and we’re getting married on July 31st. I think that’s awesome.

Trees Hate You
I spent this past week in L.A. working on a project with Julian Smith and shooting a few sketches. First of all, Julian is an extremely talented filmmaker. But, as cool as he is, his future wife is so much cooler. And one heck of a cook.
I thought it was interesting that Nashville got seven inches of snow while I was gone. That hasn’t happened since ‘96.
I couldn’t decide if God was trying to tell me something.
Anyway, here’s one of the sketches we shot while in L.A…
Julian and I collaborated on the script (yes, there was a script for this craziness).
Google Superbowl Ad
I didn’t watch the entirety of the Super Bowl this year but I did see Google’s ad. It’s an interesting way to tell a story. I never knew I could relate to someone through their search habits.
