I wish all of you could experience this tour… We only have three weeks left and yet I feel like we started the tour yesterday. I’ve said it before but I think it deserves repeating: I don’t want this tour to end.
I’ve never had a job that was this rewarding. Here’s a bit of an email I got after our event in Philly:

Pretty incredible. I can only hope that I find another job as rewarding as this when the tour ends.
And for kicks, here’s a backstage look at Revolve in Portland, Oregon.
Hello Portland
Before coming out here, someone told me that I better hope for bad weather because I would want to move here if it were nice.
So much for that…here’s the view from my balcony.
Waiting

Time to geek out for a second.
I’ve been watching/reading reviews on Verizon’s Droid for the last few weeks, hoping that I would see or hear something that would make me want to buy the Droid over the iPhone. I wish I could say I was impressed. I wanted to say I was impressed because I’m happy with Verizon and I wish they offered a phone similar to or better than the iPhone.
First of all, the marketing for the Droid would be extremely impressive if it weren’t for one fatal flaw, the existence of the iPhone. I’ve found myself to be a lot less impressed with what the Droid can do simply because I’ve seen all of it accomplished on the iPhone (except for Google Navigation Street View, which has been the most impressive thing I’ve seen from the Droid).
But the Droid’s design makes me feel like the Droid is an iPhone that started shopping at a Thrift Store for old men. Everyone keeps talking about how great the physical QWERTY keyboard is on the Droid but it only makes the phone more clunky (it outweighs the iPhone by 25%). It’s hard to compete with the iPhone’s sleek design.
After looking into it, I can now say that the only reason I don’t have an iPhone is because I would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get out of my contract with Verizon and I’m honestly really happy with the service I get through them. It doesn’t make sense to pay an unnecessary amount of money to switch to a carrier with spotty service just for a different phone.
The only hope I’ve found in all of this is that there are rumors that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon next year.
I think I can wait.
Book Break
Unfortunately, I’ve recently run into a problem: I’ve built a backlog of books (alliteration) that I haven’t started reading and yet I’m still buying new books (mostly new “used” books from Bookman Bookwoman like this copy of Screwtape).
So, from now until further notice, I am on a book buying freeze.
That’s right, I wont be buying any new books until I finish the 50+ books that I have yet to read.
Good thing I have a Bible.
A few that I’m excited about:
A Million Miles in a Thousand Years
The Idiot
Cost of Discipleship
The Unexpected Legacy of Divorce
Celebration of Discipline
(Repeat)

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I didn’t dress up this year but that’s okay because I was working for Revolve. I don’t have a problem missing out on anything for this tour. Unless it’s the rapture.
Favorite Halloween Tweet: (via @donaldmilleris)
“On halloween, modest girls are hot. – We should just call it “show off your sucky father issues night” I think.”
I keep saying how grateful I am for this job but I don’t feel like I’ve said it enough to help you understand; I only feel like I’ve said it enough to annoy you.
This job is evidence of God’s grace in my life.
Just downloaded Passion Pit’s latest album (as recommended by John Mayer). “Moth’s Wings” on repeat. Wish I could put this tour on repeat.
Home in three hours.
